Steel bending in the SANKALP workshop
The making process

Steel shaped with
purpose.

Each stage adds structure, precision or finish. Together they create a piece that looks considered and works hard.

Workers measuring and preparing raw sheet metal for furniture manufacturing Preparation
Step01

Raw Sheet Metal

The process begins with sheet metal selected for the furniture body, panels and internal components.

Material selection

Sheet thickness and quality are chosen around the intended load, durability and final furniture application.

Step02

Cutting

Sheets and sections are cut to the required dimensions so every component starts with the right proportion.

Measured accuracy

Every cut follows the required dimensions so doors, shelves and body panels align cleanly during assembly.

Step03

Bending

Cut parts are shaped on the bending machine to create clean edges, corners and structural folds.

Controlled forming

Accurate folds create sharper edges, stronger profiles and the geometry needed for a refined final silhouette.

Step04

MIG Welding

Structural pieces are joined with MIG welding to build a strong and dependable furniture frame.

Structural strength

Weld points are planned to hold the frame securely while keeping joints controlled and fabrication consistent.

Step05

Spot Welding

Sheet-metal panels are joined at focused points, keeping the assembly secure and neatly aligned.

Clean panel joining

Focused spot welds secure sheet surfaces without unnecessary distortion, helping panels stay straight and balanced.

Step06

Drilling

Accurate holes are prepared for hinges, locks, handles and the fittings required by each design.

Fitting precision

Hole positions are checked against locks, handles, hinges and accessories so final hardware sits correctly.

Step07

Shaping & Assembly

Panels, frames and compartments are brought together and aligned into the final furniture form.

Final geometry

The body is brought into alignment, checked for squareness and prepared as one complete functional structure.

Step08

Putty Filling

Putty is applied to weld marks and surface irregularities, then levelled to prepare a smooth base.

Surface refinement

Small weld marks and imperfections are levelled before coating so painted surfaces appear cleaner and more uniform.

Step09

Painting

The prepared body receives an even painted finish that gives the furniture its final colour and character.

Protected finish

A controlled paint application builds colour, visual consistency and a practical protective layer for everyday use.
